As of June 2022, the SQS and SQS-E variants are offered with an alloy casing designed for internal tunnel placement, akin to the original shifter layout found in VW-based vehicles. Both SQS Mechanical and SQS-E are also compatible with an ‘Under Tunnel’ setup, facilitating installation in MINI vehicles while retaining the use of OEM cables or bowdens.
Technical Specifications:
- SQS Mechanical: This version is specifically designed for use with DOG gearboxes. It is mainly utilized by drag racing professionals because it allows for rapid gear shifts—typically only three are needed per run.
- SQS-E: Created for synchronized gearboxes, this version can also be paired with DOG gearboxes for a smoother operation, boosting safety and accuracy. The SQS-E accounts for the majority of our gearbox sales.
